Avatar Securities: An Exam Result Is Not a Trading-Access Approval
Avatar Securities describes a proprietary trading business rather than a retail customer-account service. Its FAQ discusses registration and examinations. This source guide, checked 24 October 2026, uses that company description and FINRA's own SIE guidance to distinguish a knowledge result from permission to conduct securities business.

Identify the professional relationship first
The reviewed Avatar FAQ says the firm trades its own capital, does not accept retail customer accounts and requires its traders to be registered and licensed. It describes U.S. equities, ETFs, ETNs and equity options, with remote trading for approved associates meeting the requirements.
These are Avatar's published descriptions, not this site's verification of an individual's status or a current licence register. They should not be converted into a claim that paying for an unrelated simulated challenge opens a retail account with Avatar.
FINRA separates the SIE from registration
FINRA explains that passing the SIE alone does not qualify someone for registration with a member firm or to engage in securities business. It distinguishes that introductory examination from an appropriate qualification examination and the associated firm relationship.
This distinction is narrower than a personal legal conclusion about every role. The relevant firm and authorities determine applicable requirements. The guide does not advise that a Canadian reader is authorised, eligible for employment or required to pursue a specific application.
| Record | Example status | Does not establish |
|---|---|---|
| Introductory exam | Result available in the example | Registration or securities-business permission |
| Firm relationship | Not established | Employment from a course receipt |
| Registration/qualification | Separate applicable evidence needed | A retail evaluation is equivalent |
| System access | Actual approval required | A public FAQ grants access |
An original four-stage evidence record
For a fictional record, place “introductory exam result available” on one line and “registration not established” on another. Add separate fields for the relevant firm relationship and actual account or system access. Completing the first line cannot fill the other three.
A certificate, study-course receipt and trading statement also have different purposes. Do not treat a paid course or a simulated evaluation result as an equivalent regulatory credential. No exam enrolment, employment application, licence check or account test was performed for this article.
Choose a separate programme without confusing its role
For Avatar's professional trading relationship, use its official information and applicable requirements. For a regulator's exam description, use the regulator's own current guidance. This worksheet records categories; it does not certify or grant any status.
The optional HashHedge invitation below is a separate evaluation programme. It does not grant a securities registration, satisfy Avatar's requirements or establish employment or access there. Review the destination's own current conditions before registering.
